Zm. Rebecca Nie
Visiting Teacher

Bio
Rebecca Dawn Nie is a Zen Master in the Korean Zen tradition, an award-winning author, and the founding abbot of M.V. Seon Sanctuary. With a lineage tracing eighty generations back to the historical Buddha, she trained under Zen Master Ven. Hwasun Yangil Sunim, an elder of the Jogye Order, who authorized her to teach. She has also served as a Buddhist chaplain at Stanford University for over a decade.
Her work bridges ancient wisdom and modern life, drawing from Zen, Buddhist Tantra, Raja Yoga, and somatic practices. As co-translator and creative force behind Yin Mountain, she has helped bring the voices of eighth-century Daoist priestesses to contemporary readers.
Rebecca’s teaching emphasizes awakening as a practical path, a way to heal, cultivate insight and compassion, and live with clarity and purpose in today’s world.
